On September 2, 2026, Masatsuna Ogi, Representative Director and CEO of UPCYCLE Technologies Inc., took the stage at “Green Transition and Business Ecosystems: New Business Opportunities through International Collaboration,” held at TECH HUB YOKOHAMA.
The event brought together Business Lahti (formerly LADEC), a green business support organization based in Lahti, Finland; Regenerative Community Tokyo, a community focused on sustainability; and TECH HUB YOKOHAMA. Connecting stakeholders from Tokyo’s Marunouchi district, Yokohama, and Finland, the event aimed to explore new business opportunities and the potential for domestic and international collaboration in the green sector.
UPCYCLE Technologies was invited to participate as one of the startups presenting during the TECH HUB YOKOHAMA session, in recognition of the strong alignment between the event’s theme, the company’s business activities, and its international expansion efforts.
During the session, Ogi introduced the company’s proprietary catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology, which converts organic waste such as food and agricultural residues into biochar at approximately 130°C. He also presented the company’s vision for building a circular infrastructure that enables waste to be converted into valuable resources at or near the point where it is generated.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to deepen connections with companies and organizations involved in green business and sustainability.
UPCYCLE Technologies will continue to collaborate with municipalities, companies, research institutions, and other partners to advance the social implementation of circular infrastructure that transforms organic waste into valuable local resources, while further expanding its business globally.
