Creating new value from coffee grounds. We have developed “AirX COFFEE”, a coffee biocomposite made from coffee grounds that were previously discarded. By expanding its use to various products, including tumblers, we aim to reduce coffee waste and petroleum-derived plastics simultaneously, thereby contributing to a sustainable society.
AirX COFFEE is a new material that is considerate of both people and the environment, while maintaining the lightness, durability, and reusability of plastic, and incorporating up to 51% bio-based materials. We are rethinking waste not as “garbage” but as “resources,” and we continue our efforts toward realizing a resource-recycling society.

Our coffee biocomposite is made by combining spent coffee grounds with PP, PE, and PLA resins. Under certain conditions, the PLA-based biocomposite is converted into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.
51% coffee biocomposite can be disposed of as combustible waste.
*PP decomposes 100% into water and carbon dioxide when incinerated, so it does not pollute the environment.
