Business Development Manager Suzuha Takami Speaks at the Fourth NFTT Farm Event

On August 28, 2026, Suzuha Takami, Manager of the Business Development Team at UPCYCLE Technologies Inc., spoke at the fourth NFTT Farm event, held at Hotel Italia-ken in Niigata City.

NFFT Farm is a startup community established by Niigata Food Tech Town (NFTT) to support the growth of startups in the food sector. It brings together startups, food-related companies, universities, government agencies, financial institutions, and support organizations to foster collaboration and co-creation.

During the pitch session, Takami introduced the company’s proprietary catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology, which converts organic waste, including food and agricultural residues, into biochar at approximately 130°C. She also presented a resource circulation model that reduces transportation and waste treatment costs, as well as CO₂ emissions, by processing waste directly at the point of generation and utilizing the resulting biochar within the local community.

The startup pitch session featured companies from within and outside Niigata Prefecture, each presenting technologies and business initiatives aimed at addressing challenges in the food sector. The event provided an opportunity to hear diverse perspectives from companies working in food tech and to exchange ideas with participants, making it a valuable occasion to explore future business partnerships and new opportunities for co-creation.

UPCYCLE Technologies will continue to leverage Niigata’s abundant food resources and strong industrial base while deepening collaboration with local companies and related organizations. Through these efforts, the company will advance the social implementation of a circular infrastructure that transforms organic waste into valuable resources.
