On September 2 and 3, 2026, Suzuha Takami, Manager of the Business Development Team at UPCYCLE Technologies Inc., participated in TECHNIUM Global Conference 2026, held in Shibuya, Tokyo.
TECHNIUM Global Conference is an invitation-only conference that brings together key stakeholders from Japan and overseas, including researchers, entrepreneurs, corporations, investors, government officials, and policymakers. The conference aims to foster new collaborations and accelerate the real-world implementation of deep-tech innovations.
On the first day, Takami participated in TECH SEEDS MEETUP 2026, an official side event held at SAKURA DEEPTECH SHIBUYA. Representatives from universities, research institutions, and deep-tech startups across Japan gathered to exchange ideas about promising research, advanced technologies, and initiatives aimed at bringing them to market.
On the second day, Takami took the stage during the startup pitch session. She introduced the company’s proprietary catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology, which converts organic waste, including food and agricultural residues, into biochar at approximately 130°C. She also presented the company’s business concept of processing waste directly at the point of generation to reduce transportation and waste treatment costs, as well as CO₂ emissions, while utilizing the resulting biochar as a valuable resource.
Throughout the two-day conference, Takami gained insights from companies, government organizations, universities, and research institutions working to bring deep-tech innovations into practical use. The event also provided valuable opportunities to connect with a wide range of participants and explore new applications for the company’s technology, as well as potential research and business partnerships.
UPCYCLE Technologies will continue to strengthen collaboration with companies, universities, research institutions, and government organizations in Japan and overseas as it advances the social implementation of a circular infrastructure that transforms organic waste into valuable resources.
