UPCYCLE Technologies Featured on Moriyama City’s Official note

On September 8, 2026, UPCYCLE Technologies Inc. was featured in an article published on Moriyama City’s official note account titled “Event Report: The Next Conference for a City of Entrepreneurs — Beyond Demonstration Projects: Building a Community Where Innovation Takes Root.”

The article reports on “The Next Conference for a City of Entrepreneurs,” held at Moriyama City Library on August 27, 2026. The event brought together entrepreneurs, local businesses, students, financial institutions, government officials, and support organizations from within and outside the city to discuss the outcomes of demonstration projects, pathways to real-world implementation, and ways to establish a sustainable ecosystem that supports new challenges in Moriyama.

A total of seven organizations, including businesses conducting demonstration projects in Moriyama City, delivered presentations during the event. Masatsuna Ogi, Representative Director and CEO of UPCYCLE Technologies, took the stage and introduced the company’s proprietary catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology, which converts food waste into biochar at low temperatures.

The article highlights the features of the company’s technology, including its ability to process food waste using compact equipment while minimizing odors and smoke and converting it into consistent-quality biochar. It also introduces the company’s vision of utilizing the resulting biochar locally for applications such as energy and agricultural materials. In addition, the article presents the company’s proposal to work with Moriyama City to create a community that generates no waste by integrating food waste treatment, decarbonization, and local resource circulation.
