On July 29, UPCYCLE Technologies Inc. welcomed three children from Niigata Tenshi-en Children’s Home for a workplace visit organized as part of the “Niigata Genki Project,” of which the company is a participating member. The visit provided the children with an opportunity to learn about businesses and different ways of working while considering their own futures.
During the visit, we introduced our business activities and the concept of upcycling. CEO Masatsuna Ogi and Takami, a first-year employee, also spoke about work and taking on new challenges, drawing on their own experiences.
Ogi encouraged the children to pursue what they truly want to do with courage, explaining that taking on challenges can help turn dreams into reality. Takami spoke about the importance of personal connections and the new encounters that can arise through taking on challenges. The children listened attentively and showed great interest in their stories.
The children also participated in a hands-on printing workshop using the “Kaffy Pita Cup,” an upcycled tumbler developed by UPCYCLE Technologies. Each participant created a one-of-a-kind tumbler featuring the logo of a favorite person or character.
By seeing and using an upcycled product firsthand, the children were able to enjoyably experience how discarded materials can be transformed into products with new value. Their excitement as they held their finished tumblers was especially memorable.
Following the visit, we received heartfelt message cards and a thank-you letter from the three participants, making the experience equally meaningful for our team.
We hope this visit gave the children an opportunity to learn more about work and society and inspired them to consider their futures and new possibilities. UPCYCLE Technologies will continue to value its connections with the local community and support learning and hands-on experiences for the next generation.
