UPCYCLE Technologies Co., Ltd. has been selected as a finalist for the “Social X Acceleration for AICHI 2026” program hosted by Aichi Prefecture under the theme of “Innovation to Solve Social and Regional Challenges.”
The program aims to foster collaboration between innovative startups and local governments to address social and regional challenges. Through proof-of-concept projects and social implementation, the program seeks to create new value and promote sustainable solutions through public-private partnerships.
UPCYCLE Technologies proposed its “Organic Waste Resource Circulation Project Utilizing a Catalytic Low-Temperature Carbonization System.” Leveraging the company’s proprietary catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology, the project converts organic waste, including food waste and agricultural residues, into biochar, thereby reducing waste disposal costs, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting a circular economy.
Over the next two months, the company will participate in a kick-off workshop and four mentoring sessions to refine the project’s social impact and stakeholder framework, while advancing discussions on proof-of-concept initiatives and commercialization in collaboration with local governments.
